The Audiokarma Official Steam Engines Magazine

It is heading all across the famous Black Forest Railway to Villingen. Villingen, by the way, is the home of one of the best German Jazz labels: MPS! (Musikproduktionen Schwarzwald)

I have learned so much in a few days! Oscar Peterson album, Thorens turntables, and now the "MPS" record label are all from the Black Forest!

Found this photo in some of my grandparent's things. Don't know why they had it - I don't believe they were ever near where it was taken.askrigg.jpg

July 27, 28, 29, 2018 At Berryville Virginia. Tractor show. lots of fun, small steam devices, vapor engines, steam tractor powered saw mill, classic cars & trucks. Usually about 15 - 20+ Steam Tractors. Love the smell of coal smoke.

I just discovered that the Durango and Silverton caused a bad wildfire on June 1. For a while, they ran diesel power instead of the steam engines. Here is a video of them back in operation under steam with extra fire precautions.

Here are some historic photos of the Tuckerton Railroad, which operated from 1871 until 1936. It connected with the Jersey Central and Pennsylvania Railroad lines, and provided service to the beach at Long Beach Island.

Here comes a great story:

This brand new engine sunk on a ship in 1852 near Karlsruhe, where it had been built. In 2012 the engine had been located below a layer of 15 feet mud in the Rhine river. The name of it is "Rhein", which means "Rhine". In October it will going to be raised - the oldest German steam engine!

I will keep you updated!

Santa Fe 2929 in Victorville California 1951.

I have been working on a couple mastering projects with Stan Kistler. In the 1950's Stan would ride, chase and record locomotives in the West with an Ampex reel to Reel. He would also photograph them.

Here is one of his photos that he signed for me.
