The car that saved me, my girlfriend, and buddies lifes friday.

Still cant believe they called the mustang 2 a mustang. What an embarrassment

Wasn't it though! Even the "dolled-up" Cobra packages were absolutely pathetic (and garish as all get-out).

Side/curtain air bags are so cool.

Airbags are great at protecting the occupants of the vehicle--no doubt about that, but they come at a price--both in airbag-related injuries, and a monetary price. At $1000-1500 each to replace, they are a big reason that so many late-model cars end up in the scrap-yards as "total losses". 10 airbags = $10K-15K in "damages", before we even look at any mechanical/body damage.

"Stretching" the Mustang platform is no stretch for Ford. The much-revered FOX-body Mustang platform was used for the Ford Fairmont/Mercury Zephyr and LTDII/Marquis in the late 70's and well into the 80's--oh, and I forgot the "square" Thunderbirds of that era.

Yes, they should call it a Fairlane (with a 60's style) or some popular name from their brand's history!

Indeed. Make the Fairlane a Mustang based, 4 door sedan with sporty overtones. Sensible, does not debase the Mustang name. I like this car as a Fairlane. To our original poster, we're glad you and your passengers are safe and well, that matters more than metal.

...I'm a little partial to this one. You too, can own one from Lou Glutz Motors.

NOW you’re talking! VRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMM!

Hey--it's everything you wanted LOL! My mother actually had one (back in the day), but it was powder blue--I miss "wagons"--I've got my "law enforcement package" Suburban, but that is a little extreme--but it's no "compact" SUV or minivan.

Thought id chip back in here and update. cars clearly totaled. me and family went out to the crash site and grabbed come parts and hung them on the wall lol. but i remember everything. its actually kinda cool everything that car done on its on upon impact. it killed the engine, turned on the 4 ways, through the radio at a fairly high volume the Ford Sync System said "collision detected contacting emergency services". it also turned on all the interior lights and kept them on. i read online that they also automatically lock the brakes up but i can't confirm if thats true or not.
