The New Wave/Post-Punk/80s Alternative Thread

Most of the vinyl I own from this era are 12" singles.

The Fall - Cruisers Creek
Intaferon - Get Outa London
Fadgadget - Collapsing new people

At the time, I thought that these were cool and alternative and really underground until a friend of mine played the following for me:

Foetus - Anything!
Einsturzende Neubauten - Yu Gung
Severed Heads - Gashing the old Mae West

And I thought "Wow, I don't know sh!t about REAL alternative". Of course, they were more "industrial". Anyway, I still love the early 80s stuff!!!

Hoodoo Gurus-Stoneage Romeos...Great band, still kicking around, 26+ years later :thmbsp:

Another "chance-worthy" record I figured. The complete absence of guitar, makes this somewhat unique and unusual, plus I was drawn to the utilized instruments - drums (both acoustic and electronic), vocals, and double bass. Additionally, there are also horns and Hammond organ on many of the tracks. "Mastered by Jack Skinner at Sterling Sound, NY and Aaron Chakraverty at The Master Room, London."
