Now there's a new one on me.
It's Iommi's & Ward's band immediately prior to their quitting and later hooking up w/ Butler & Oz to form what would become Black Sabbath. The SQ is @ times barely acceptable, @ other atrocious, but it's all for the sake of the history, the legend.
The Dumfries, Scotland perfomance I played earlier today is the earliest known ROIO-capture of the band as named Black Sabbath, so following the change from their original name of Earth. A proto-Metal band named Earth? Bleh.

Bill Kirchen has a new record out with Austin Delone, "Transatlanticana". There is a great version of this Dylan classic on it. Kirchen used to play every Thursday at a little honky-tonk a few miles down the road so I got to see him all the time. The Washington Post did an article on him and his popularity exploded, and he hit the road to Austin. One thing I remember is he seldom played a song the same way twice. So if you did Dylan covers, and twang, you might like this. The version on the album is fantastic.
I stopped by the local record shop today. 2 studio and a cool live one.
The Siegel-Schwall Band Live
The Last Supper
Recorded at The Brewery, Lansing, MI. and The Quiet Knight in Chicago in 1974.
It had a small spot of a gummy substance on the lead in. Ran it through the Spin Clean again and then look a tooth pick to it. That took off the big chunks. Any trip through the SC. Next I poured straight isopropyl alcohol and took a toothbrush to it. At this point, nothing left to lose. Took the Oral B powered toothbrush to it and another SCing.
A real careful drop of the needle allowed me to record it.
