This one is a great place to start. I'm not usually much for comps when it comes to jazz, but this one is perfect and just flows:I'll check it out
I have an old (first edition?) copy of Gillett's book. I read it years ago when I read all of the "required" reading (Greil Marcus, Gillett, Ben Sidran, Jones/Baraka, Charlie Keil, etc., etc.).
I will have to dig it out and re-read it!

The Sound Of The City - Vol. 5 good music! I really liked it.
When can we expect Vol. 6?
HEY poppacubby, remember ME?
Well not quite but there are some good ones. You're that guy who thinks Boomboxes are just as good as a hifi system, right?
poppa, if you ever decide to up the level of your subwoofage, check out Rythmik is a big step up. i had the hsu like yours and liked it a lot but after hearing the rythmiks, i had a gnawing need to go that way. it could happen.
The Rythmiks are way tighter and musical, just sayin'.I love my HSU subs Tommy, the thought of changing hasn't even begun to cross my mind. Long term, I would like to buy another SE40 for dual mono and upgrade to E-stat.
Thanks for pushing this along.
