Pay you? Heck, any kid with a Go-Pro is out doing that stuff for free these days.
I shudder to think of all the dumb stunts kids have done that never got circulated because of tragic results.
There was an amusement park in norther NJ where the daily antics of the patrons would make you shudder just as much.
The name was "Action Park" but the nicknames were "Traction Park" and "ClassAction Park" due to the myriad daily injuries (and occasional death) that occurred there.
Yep, this is a waterslide:
We did all that crap for free without the cameras rolling. At 53 my right wrist still reminds me that a 1975 YZ125 out of the hay loft door wasn’t my brightest idea. If I only had my 2014 YZ450F
Ah...motorcycles. They bring out the best in us, don't they?
Keaton was the master self-stuntman. Such agility and timing. And an effin' fine comic writer and actor to boot.
An unintentional face plant isn't skill though.
Beyond his amazing stuntwork was his skill in setting up the shot, he was an artist -
Motorcycle - $900
Renting 13 buses - $350.
Adrenaline junkie - Priceless.
But they didn't show the ones that didn't work or about the broken bones and concussions and deaths that resulted. The great stuntmen like Buster Keaton and Yakima Canutt were expert and fearless and oft injured.
Adrenaline junkie, then, painkillers.
