I was lucky enough to meet him at "Abbey Road on the River" this year in the Louisville, KY area. He signed my copy of his book (link below). He broke many of the rules at EMI, risking his job to give the Beatles the sound they wanted. Very creative person. The book is a great read. It will give you insight to how it all worked in the studio and what the band was like while recording. (no affiliation).
