Time to take the plunge, so how do you do it?

I assume the PC output needs to be USB or Optical or something similar, and that I need to by-pass the DAC on the soundcard.

If that's directed to me, yes. I have edited my previous post to make it clearer. I use a USB cable from PC out (internal sound card gets automatically bypassed) to DAC in.
