No idea where or when i acquired this lp,the cover is just about wrecked and there's a sizeable chunk out of the edge of it, cleaned it anyway not expecting that much,carefully cued it up and voila sounds mint.

VOX POPULI! "CUT CHEMIST PRESENTS FUNK OFF" 2012


Archived cassette and 7" recordings by the French band Vox Populi! with collaborator Pacific 231 involved in the proceedings. These were originally recorded in the mid 80's and reissued in 2012 by DJ and vinyl exhumer Cut Chemist.

Revox reel to reel tape "scratching" is what caught his attention.
This music is somewhere between avant noise tape cut-up and early 80's French underground disco-punk.
This is a nice double LP with an 8 page booklet and bonus 7".

There is also a companion Cut Chemist remix LP called FUNK OFF MEGAMIX.
