Kate and Anna. Cannot believe this one is new to me.


There is a certain sad darkness in this part of their career. And it may be viscerally understood by those listeners who truly recognize that they themselves have advanced into middle age. There is an aching beauty that promises that this particular album, and others, will live on and find new fans — as they themselves get older.

I can't help but think that this comes out of the richness of the Franco-Irish culture that is the brilliance in the music of Quebec, and its influence in Canadian music.
