PM, you certainly know how to get one's attention. I so want to track this down and give it a listen. I have Chris Thile's Bach Sonatas & Partititas Vol. 1 CD on mandolin that Edgar produced. It is a magnificent recording and considering that Edgar produced it, I would expect no less from this one. I would also recommend to anybody on this thread to check out the duo work that these two gentlemen have released. It isn't exactly classical, but the musicianship is undeniable and their efforts to support and extend the boundaries of a long standing musical tradition have (IMHO) earned a small measure of that respect.

Prompted by PM's post, but in memory of my late brother Phil, when I played this for him on our last road trip into Chicago to visit the Art Institute. His first comment was, "He makes it sound like this was written for the mandolin."
Bach on the banjo is good, at least when Bela Fleck is playing.
