    This is one of the stranger CDs I've listened to recently. Baroque and Renaissance music played on period instruments, but mostly in a Jazz style. The jazz side of me was intrigued, the classical side appalled. After several listens, the tapping feet won out. :) Lislevand has written in several of his recordings that the authentic music movement (H.I.P.) is bogus as no one knows how any period music was actually played. As long as it's played with emotions that convey meaning, it's authentic as far as he's concerned.

    That old Monty Python catchphrase leaps out .....
