Brahms 3rd Symphony this morning, and the entire Volodos Schubert disc.
I love these Brahms performances under Kurt Masur, though they get trashed by people who (IMHO) don't understand Brahms as a classicist. I consider him straddling the classical and romantic schools, and enjoy sometimes hearing his work treated as if it were Mozart's -- not over-interpreted, letting the score speak for itself. Restraint can be the better part of musicality.

At their premier performance in 1808, Beethoven’s “Pastoral” Symphony was billed as his Symphony No. 5, and the “Fifth” as his Symphony No. 6. Their order was switched when they were published with opus numbers. Beethoven had worked on both symphonies simultaneously in 1807, but he’d been working on the C minor (5th) Symphony longer, with sketches for it surviving from as early as 1804.
