Screw it, other lists are dead after many months, so I'm going to try to keep this one alive. Here's one from the group, led by Italian producer Giorgio Moroder, that backed Donna Summers and many others released on the Casablanca label. Anyone around L.A. back then remember Casablanca's falling out with Warner Bros (and later with Polygram) and boldly going it alone, quite successfully with acts like Parliament, Kiss, Donna Summers, the Village People, and even Robin Williams. Their release parties were legendary, with no expense or extravagance (nor expensive drugs) spared. Moroder is also an interesting fellow, often credited with creating Eurodisco and H-NRG (as well as numerous popular movie soundtracks) and working later with Bowie, Blondie and recently with Daft Punk to create nuevo disco . Most tracks on this particular release are instrumental (just some background singing), and side one's "Get on The Funk Train' is a 15 minute plus classic in this genre. Love to Love You Baby!:
