IMHO this is one of the more lush & beautiful "expressions" of so-called Rock music.
check out their 'The Drugs Don't Work'
really beautiful and haunting
From the album “Urban Hymns”
And one more...
High quality album by fine song writers/musicians in any genre.
This is a good example I think, sense of disconnection and aimlessness in the lyrics, gauzy sound.
I agree, age old problem with genres/labels. Never understood why Bauhaus was goth and NOT just a good rock band.
Speaking of Lush... I think this is a dream pop/shoe gaze anthem:
I like some FS songs, they remind me if Yuck, or vice versa.
^^ although some might prefer to label this one slowcore... ^^
So many sub-genres, so little time...
not sure if fits category but very beautiful and dreamy
'You Never Will' by Sam Pinkerton
another that defies category 'Move' by Seekonk
listen for the drum/cymbal part starting about 3:40
and one more obscure one
from Fiel Garvie
there's a little chord change and a wailing vocal starting at about 2:35 that really gets me
I think Seekonk and Fiel Garvie did their two albums and disappeared.
I think Sam Pinkerton is still working.
Dream and nightmare pop here. She did perform a few sublime numbers @ that soundtrack, didn' she?
