Another band to get acquainted with.
Gave it my second spin last night, this album is pretty dark. Some good electric guitar playing but I don't dig the harsh mechanical sound to RT's playing. I don't know if it is the recording engineer or the producer or himself who chose this particular style in which to record Richard but personally, I prefer the more fluid sound of earlier albums. Don't get me wrong, there is no mistaking who is playing, it just grates on me here. Live, I am sure would be a different matter. YMMV.
RThompson? Dark? Now there's a shock.
That cover looks very familiar, I could have sworn I had one. However, if I do, it is misfiled, and will turn up someday when I am looking for something else.
Always liked that cover design.Hopefully youll come across it.....serendipity
Some "Deep Cuts" on that compilation there, John. It is a who's who of obscure British folk.
