More Bud this evening. I love the intimate feeling of the Parisian trio with Kenny Clarke and Pierre Michelot, though the canned applause at the end of the tracks is a little awkward...

Oh yeah. Have you ever heard his "Feeling Is Believing" album? Some of what he does on that reminds me some of the things on the "Ready Take One" recording. It's a great LP.

    The Compositions of T Monk
    Riverside 93503, a 1962 release
Things are picking up on a Riverside issue with their stars playing Monk compositions. The cover painting is an ODD choice. But then, I'm not in Marketing, A&R, etc... I was only on the retail end.

Excellent choice. I was casting about for some Big T, earlier. Maybe I'll come back around later.

Is that applause added? I always thought it was recorded live. I haven't heard the record in a long time. Great Bud on that.

    Sessions Live Oscar Peterson.JPG

Sessions, Live Oscar Peterson- Gerald Wiggins- Jane Fielding- Terry Morel, CAL 3001 1976 release. Scant and misleading notes to what appears to be a group of two sets recorded in March and April 1957.

    Ralph Sutton Ruby Braff.JPG

Ralph Sutton Ruby Braff - Duet Chaz Jazz CJ 101, a late '70s or early 1980 release. Really nice record, I've just got a poor pressing. Every other CJ has been fine, this one is clean as clean can be, it is just a bad pressing.
