Today's JAZZ playlist

I love this record! My copy is a Japanese pressing that I bought at Rose Records in the far west suburbs of Chicago many years ago. It was my introduction to Art Farmer, and a very lovely sounding one at that. I'm going to pull out my copy and follow suit in a few minutes.

It is a very clean recording. Farmer in front of an orchestra was a great idea. The arrangements and Farmer deliver. Spin away!!

You know how awhile back we were joking about how many albums Shelly Manne played on?
I feel the same way about Farmer. He's GOT to be up there with the most recorded jazz guys!
I've heard a ton of Farmer, but there always seems to be another one pop up that I don't know about.

And much like Shelly Manne, any of the records he appears on are bad. Some may not be as good as others, but he adds to the overall sonic quality that helps elevate the record.
