    You either love Woody Allen or you hate him. I'm on the Love side. I have just about all of his movies on DVD and Laser Disc. Including the ones he directed but did not appear in.

    What a nut. The scene where he is playing cello in a marching band is the limit. I like the music teacher. "He was TERRIBLE." Makes me wonder what my 5th grade band teacher thought about my terrible trumpet playing. No wonder my mother's poodle howled when I played that thing in my bedroom.

    Oh, and as a corker on this, when I told my band teacher I was quitting, I remember he said, "I'm not surprised." Then he probably told the remaining band members after I left, "He was TERRIBLE." :)

    For me CParker's playing on these albums sounds so contemporary...crisp...nimble...striving...exploring/shaping...then withdrawing/retreating back to the band's total sound...
    The backing bands i can hazard a guess as to what era they come from...interesting contrasts...

    Japanese jazz pianist Ryo Fukui. Born in 1948 in Biratori, Hokkaido, died 15-Mar-2016. In his late years he was based in Sapporo, where he played regularly at the Slowboat jazz club.
