I played this yesterday. XTC really nails the genre.
I read on wiki that they only did two takes per song and used vintage equipment whenever possible. I have seen this posted on Ak but its the first time i have listened to it. I like how they initially sold it as a lost 60's band and refused to acknowledge any involvement.
2002 - Warner Bros.
This one looks interesting. I'll have to have a listen to it. Thanks for posting it here CG.
I have listened twice so far. Its a solid album with a good vibe. Similar to there other albums.
Just got finished listening to the Night Beats's first two records. I am getting off on their tone, it meanders from Link Wray to The Ventures and all places in between.
Here's the title track from their second release.
Very nice. This one might even qualify as Neo-Prog.
They are from your side of the pond, Denmark. Yeah, the psyche sound in your neighborhood seems to be harder driving. Like these guys, definite prog influence. From Berlin.
This is the heaviest album I've heard in ages. Maybe too much going on. Maybe not. Takes 5 or so minutes to take flight.
Der Krautrock influence...
KeninDC turned me onto this band the other day. While I was listening I was thinking who writes this stuff and how in the world can they rehearse it. After some checking it turns out it's entirely improvisational. More new stuff for me that I am enjoying immensely.
