Today's Reggae Play List

Since I got my new to me TT, I have been busting out some old vinyl.
Well, I thought I may have to start a Reggae playlist, but I am glad one is already on AK.

Here are some albums I listened to tonight. I only have these albums from the 80s, but man, they sure sound nice.

The Abyssians -- Forward, 1982
Edi Fitzroy w/The Root Radics Band -- Youthman Penitentiary, 1982
Peter Tosh -- Bush Doctor, 1978 Promotional Copy

Edi Fitzroy w/The Root Radics Band -- Youthman Penitentiary, 1982

WOW, someone else besides me actually has this obscure gem! Having purged all my vinyl years ago (yeah, so shoot me) I was elated to find Youthman Penitentiary released on CD a couple years back. The CD reissue contains a bunch of more recent tracks by Edi, a couple of which are pretty good but none that come close to his classic work YP.

Very "jazzy"

Most Members of the Skatalites were in fact Jazz players. Notably:
Tommy McCook
Lester Sterling
Roland Alphonso
Don Drummonds

An excellent Skalalites album is "Authentic Ska" on the Studio One label.
