I see on the label that Tommy Lipuma produced the album. He produced Jazz artist Diana Krall's albums! Have all of her stuff including some on vinyl. All her albums, the sound quality is top notch!

Here is the German copy of Al Jarreau. The album material was recorded in 1965! "1965" is the U.S. copy album title. So, Tommy Lipuma didn't produce the album.
