Old Ears too

So today my wife went shopping and I took the opportunity to play my stereo a little louder than 'normal'.
While playing my 707, I noticed that the right channel was not performing as well as usual. At first I thought the crossover in the Column II had finally given up the ghost. I shut things down about then as my wife got home. Now, later this afternoon, I'm watching TV and get the same symptom. So, I shut down and substitute a small Polk Audio speaker into the mix replacing the Column II's. Right channel is still not performing. Everything else is working fine as I'm using the 5-ch Stereo setting on the Denon AVR 1910 to watch TV, but the right front speaker is not putting out any sound.
Any ideas as to what the problem is?
I have to admit, the Denon has been doing yeoman duty the last couple of years since I use it every time I watch TV, which is most every day. I think I got it as a demo sale item from a shop that is connected with Best Buy out here in So Cal.
Any help will be appreciated.
