Trying out different 6V6 Tubes- Can you hear a difference?

I know in most guitar amps i can hear lots of difference. My favorites are the Tungsol or RCA's .
I have been tempted to build a 6v6 based hifi amp but never got around toit.
I can hear the difference between 6550's in my stereo amp though. The RCA's/GE's sound really dynamic ,balanced and strong compared to Svetlanas or winged C, which sound slightly compressed and less extended in comparison.

I use 6v6gt type high fidelity stereo tube push/pull amp
I have used 7408 made by GE 1960 and RCA, 6v6g by Ratheon 1940 , 6v6gt RCA 1960, 6v6gta by Sylvania. 6v6gt by tung sol black plate.
GE, RCA are gray plate
Raytheon are Black Plate coke bottel style
Sylvania are Black Plate and to my ear the very best.

After 15 years in this hobby, I have found that the output tubes aren't directly responsible for the tone, the driver and output transformers are. I want power tubes that are reliable and can handle the higher voltages created by today's higher voltage power lines. Try changing the driver tubes to different brands.
Mullards tend to sound mellow on the high end. RCAs tend to sound midrangy, etc.
