tube R2R deck wanted in NY area... advice needed

HI All!

I am looking a tube R2R 1/2 track deck. I have an option to buy Ampex F4460 decks at $100 a pop but they are sold as is. I believe these are 1/4 track machines. Are they worth having serviced? My main thing will be recording music sessions, mono, single ribbon mic. 50's style.

Does anyone know a place to buy and/or get these decks serviced in the NY area? I am tech savvy with tubes and amps but not so much on head allignment etc. Could use some help!

Also if anyone is selling a r2r please hit me up. Preferably working and serviced, 1/2 track, tube.

If you're interested in an Ampex 600 mono machine, PM me. It's oozing 50's Samsonite style. And tubes. Haven't plugged it in since I got it, but it's clean and looks complete.
Not in NY, however.
