I was just going to post that...here's the original article:-

Here's what Mr. Matthew Bond of Tara Labs Inc. said in reply(posted by Tara Labs distributor in a local forum):-

A recent newspaper article regarding a United States Customs investigation involving TARA Labs has raised a number of questions from our customers and within our industry. This memorandum responds to those questions.

What is the Customs Investigation about?

Although TARA Labs does not have very much information yet about the Customs Investigation, it appears to be based on a concern over the labeling of some of the low-priced TARA Labs’ entry-level Prism Series cable products. As best we can determine, the Customs Service appears to be concerned about the country of origin of some of these products.

Firstly, it is the design, materials, technology and quality control that make a great cable product. All TARA Labs cable designs are the proprietary designs of TARA Labs and are designed by me at TARA Labs in the USA.

TARA Labs has needed to find Asian sources for some of the budget priced products, such as the Prism 100i Interconnect and the European SCART cable. Recently, TARA Labs began working with a high quality specialist cable manufacturer in China. The development of the alternative source in China means this: lower-grade Prism Series cables, such as Prism 100i, and the SCART cables for Europe are being produced in China.

Please note, that the specialist China manufacturing facility has been approved by TARA Labs and is capable of producing the low priced entry-level Prism Series cables and the SCART Cables to the high-quality standards required by TARA Labs.

Of course, as always, the very high-quality and higher priced TARA Labs cables are still produced in the USA.

TARA Labs RSC products: Importantly, with regard to the TARA Labs’ Rectangular Solid Core products, only the TARA Labs’ facility in the USA produces the state-of-the-art RSC conductor to finely polished aerospace grade standards. There is absolutely no other facility in the world that can produce these products. Our plan is to continue to focus the development of the RSC production in the USA and to continue to introduce new affordable RSC products such as the Vector Series products in our USA facility.
