Eddie Lamar was pseudonym used by keyboardist (piano, celeste, theatre pipe organ, and electric organ) and arranger Buddy Cole used for some of his solo recordings. Buddy Cole among other jobs was a pianist with the Les Paul Trio, sat in at the piano for some of Nat King Cole's tours (after Nat left the piano for most songs to stand behind the microphone), and arranged, played on, and led his hand-picked trio for many of Bing Crosby's mid- and late 1950s recordings. A gigantic chunk of those songs were first recorded for Bing's radio shows, and then many were collected for LPs of that period. In recent years, the Mosaic jazz label released a 7-CD set of those Crosby recordings, all arranged by Buddy Cole, all with him on keyboard, most featuring his trio, along with some accompanied by a dixieland ensemble also led by him.

While this recording might not be everyone's cup of tea, it is very well recorded, and has some punch and energy not heard on some of the other later big bands' more saccharin arrangements of the same or similar songs.
