I'm trying to get my new TCL TV audio into an old Bose 321 media center instead of buying a soundbar.

Although Bose may not be great sound I've had it for years with little use.

My cable service is new fiber from a Cisco settop box HDMI into the tv, and I interface the Bose with an optical cable audio and a RCA cable video.

Media center DVD plays but I cannot get audio from the TCL nor setup video from the media center.
The media center displays some options.

    Suggestions?

Does the Bose unit have optical out, or just in?
Looks like it should be set to Video 1 if you want sound from the TV. Also, tv needs to be set to send sounded via optical. If you still get nothing try changing the output format on the TV.

    Thanks for your input.

Media center Optical Audio In and TCL Optical Audio Out.

It seems contrary to manual that I can't see media center options on TV or media center display.

Median center DVD plays audio and video as info.
