Using Denon AVP-8000 as a DAC for all my digital content

I have a Denon AVP-8000 and I have a question. It supposedly has an amazing DAC on it and mostly that's all I want to use it for. I've got almost all of my music on my hard drive and it seems to me if I get my computer configured properly, I could also play my CDs through my DVD drive on my computer and run them through the Denon DAC.

My question is how. Do I just buy a SPDIF output card for my PC and run an optical cable to my AVP-8000? Which card would you recommend?

If I do this, will all audio from my PC then go through the DAC? I'm new to all of this and am not interested too much in surround sound.

Been using this preamp/processor for stereo system, the dac section sound really damn good then some modern processor system.

I have been using a Denon AVP-5000 for cd dac going to Onkyo A-10 amp. sounds great. Not sure how it will sound from computer. Good luck!
