Victor 245 amplifier (Victor RE-45)

Hello all,

I've had this 1929 Victor RE-45 console foe about 6 months now, and I'm just starting to get the nerve to try working on it a bit. See, I've never really had any contact with wiring/design/component usage in electronics *this* old.

Anyway, so I picked up this old console with the idea of selling it, I guess- but now, i'm more interested in getting the unit operational. My question is, is this radio valuable? If so, do I then want to risk working on it? Is the radio's amplifier (Victor model 245) considered more valuable if I can insure that it powers up, not having worked on it?

Thanks everyone :)

Nice rare unit!

It seems the fledging RCA corporation was going through an identity crisis shortly after purchasing Victor Talking Machine. "Radio Victor Corporation of America" ? :D
