Vintage Altec 15" woofer Help

I just had a guy give me 4 old Altec 15" woofers. 1 works great 2 need work and the last one is dead. The problem is I can't find any information on them. The model # on the massive magnet is 20802 and they are 16ohm. I would like to repair the other 3 but can't match replacement parts to these model numbers. See attached pictures. Thanks for any help.

After glancing at the 1st pic I thought 416.

Then after pics 2 and 3, I thought might be a 515 variant.

Send a e-mail to this guy and he might be able to help you out.

I consider him best available Altec vintage specialist!

Tell him you want them restored.

I have the same frames on my 515's, probably during the swicth from International Projector Corp (IPC) to Altec, they look like they were reconed, I don't see the field replaceable phenolic spiders by the voice coils, I'd need a better picture for that, nice find!. GPA could remag and recone them with new or old style spiders, the old style costs alot more, Dave.

I was thinking 515's based on the frames. If they are, this is the GOOD stuff but maybe more suited to horn loading than vented boxes. Well worth the re-cone/repair cost and Bill Hanuschak is the man to fix you up.

Thanks They are 515's

Call Bill today and they are 515's. I am going to send them off this week for the works at a cost of $118 each, and I have 4! I guess it will be worth it. I am going to have the 515B kit put on and have to option to go with 8 or 16 ohms. Any opinions?

Thanks,
Van

$118, must be the new style kits, I did all of mine in 8 ohms because all I have is solid state amps, and all my crossovers are 8 ohms, 16 is probably a better choice for tube gear. When you get them back, let me know if they arrive with beige or black voice coil suspension spiders, Dave.
