This is my dad's 64 Galaxie that he bought in 1966 when we moved from Queens to Jersey.

This is the 74 Comet I was almost killed in when it was the meat in a three-car sandwich in the Lincoln Tunnel late one night.

It appears that no one has posted in this thread for about a month, so I'll be the next one to post.

Here are my two vintage Fords.
The first one is my 1969 Ford F-100, that I'm in the process of restoring. Originally bought at a dealership here in Phoenix. Never left the area.

The next one is a 1956 Thunderbird, that I just recently acquired.

This one is my dad's 1960 Thunderbird, that one day I hope to be mine.

'66 F-250 4x4

It was never very pretty but I always loved my old '66 F-250. Sadly for me it didn't make the move to Germany.

Most of the vehicles that I owned were Fords...
1956 F-100
1968 Falcon
1972 Gran Torino
1982 Granada wagon
1985 LTD II Washingtoon State Police cruiser

Cheers,
James

The 1958-60 T-Birds & Lincolns were basically the same car, the Lincoln was 10" longer. They were both unit body cars, which was a fairly new concept in the late Fifties, even though the Lincoln-Zephyr in the Thirties was unibody too. Ford set up a special plant in Wixom, Michigan to make them. They didn't have the fancy computers to design things like we do today, nobody knew what was "Enough", & what was NOT "Enough", so both the Lincoln & the T-bird were really "Overbuilt". In fact, I've seen a picture of a T-Bird that had large chunks of its supporting structure cut away, & was still able to drive, & hold together. Hey, they had to learn SOMEWHERE.. The Lincolns of that era were REAL porkers, pushing 3 tons, & requiring the largest V-8 engine of the time to give them anything resembling "Performance"..

I've always been a fan of Thunderbirds, with the 58-60 as my favorites. I do know about the unibody design. The 1958 came with a 300 horsepower 352 V8. 1959 and 1960 came with the standared 352 V8,m but also had the opitional 350 horsepower Lincoln 430 V8. My grandfather had a 1960 with the 430 V8 and my dad's 1960 has the standard 352. I also had a 1959. That one someone prior had swapped out the original with a 300 horsepower 390 V8 out of a newer Thunderbird. Having driven my 59 and my dad's 60, the 300 horsepower is plenty power to haul the car. I would like to drive one with the 430 V8. I'm sure that it really "gets up and goes". My 59 with the 390, I could burn some rubber with that.

How bout a Grabber ??

!972 Maverick Grabber not even close to stock 302, hopped up c-4 auto w/ 2500 stall converter and Richmond gears 3.80 rear end. Fast and fun. :thmbsp:

Ahh, the Mercs w/the "Breezeway" rear window ! Not many left, that's for sure. Think it was gone by '68, w/the rise in the popularity of air conditioning.

Wow!!! My buddy used to have a few Mark 7s and always wanted to build a GTC out of one. He had most of the parts (minus the 351). Amazing car. Everything I have seen on this thread is nice. You guys have some really cool stuff.

1986 Lincoln Mark VII GTC. Very rare. ....mine. :D

1966 Bronco

I have a 1966 Bronco. I have had 3 5.0l Mustangs and this is actually my 2nd Bronco. I recently (within the last 2 years) sold a 1968. It is a fun truck for short rides. It runs good, but has a slight case of death wobble above 35mph. I will work on that in the spring I guess.

I'll toss in my Maverick but it is the opposite of devildog's still original 40k mile Wisconsin survivor. Early build 1973 so it's still got the package tray instead of a glove compartment. I never thought I would own a Maverick, but I couldn't afford a Cuda lol. It's a pretty fun lil car and pretty much everyone I run into says they either had one or know someone who had one.
