Vintage Stereo Receiver suggestions.

You will probably get recommendations all over the place but I really like my Sansui 2000A.

Luxman is a brand that put out some top quality stuff (at least up until about 1990ish) - I'd consider it superior to all but the TOTL Sansui, Marantz, Pioneer, etc. but flies under the radar price-wise. A good amount of the gear that I have laying around is Luxman for that reason. Most people consider the R-117 to be a) one of the top five receivers ever made and b) the beginning of the decline of Luxman, but I picked up a R-351 (BPC looking 55WPC receiver) a while back (made a couple years later) off Craigslist to put together an inexpensive system for a youngster, and thought it was pretty decent. Very decent, given the price. Still haven't come across a remote control for it however. Older era Luxman gear probably has the look you want. Maybe something like a R-1050?
