W06b Sub?

Yes. The 1N4005 is a 600PIV, 1 Amp diode versus the 150PIV, 0.75 Amp W06B diode.

can I use a 1n4005 as a substitute for a w06b?

Thanks,

Mike

Looks like a 1N4003 will work also since VR is 200V.
However, I am wondering since the1N4003 Vrms is 140V, is it better using the 1N4004 since the Vrms is 240V and VR is 400V?

I was wondering however... is there something with performance enhancement with using a certain brand diode versus another?

Are there more efficient rectifiers maybe also that are packaged differently worth considering? I was thinking regarding capacitance maybe there might be something that will make a smoother upper envelope maybe needing less capacitance down circuit to level or maybe faster response time like a 1N5806 or better a 1N6638 (low surge though).

I'm thinking this looks the best RGP10D by Vishay. I almost went with the RFUS20TM4S by Rohm... though I think way overrated for this app.
