Webcor Speaker Manufacturer?

In the process of restoring an old Webcor A129-1 and am wondering if Webcor made their own speakers or if they were outsourced to say, Jensen. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Check the EIA code stamped on the frame of the speaker, it'll tell you the manufacturer and the date it was made. Since Webcor was based in Chicago it wouldn't surprise me if CTS made it for them but the code reveals all. Do a google search for speaker EIA codes and you will find a list of numbers and how to decipher them.

Thanks for the help. Apparently made by Quam. Both base in Chicago, so it makes sense. Any idea if they're any good? The one speaker it came with is irrevocably screwed and there's a 2nd 3" that has been stripped.

AFAIK, Quam largely built for the OEM market. Likely many of the speakers they produced were built to the specs determined by the OEM purchasing them.

They probably made some "good" sounding drivers, but i am not aware of any that are of significant value or cult following.

Replace them with something that fits, you have a 50/50 chance of it being an improvement over the Quam.
