Weekly Estate and Garage sale finds (pics)

Very odd
Not that long ago I heard that song, Blame it on the Bossa Nova.
I thought what a catchy tune.

Picked up a complete vintage stereo rig stopping through yard sales and a thrift store.

Bandwidth is cheap nowadays. It's not 1998.

Great, become a subscriber and help AK manage it all. :)

I second the recommendation. Having a place to share your finds is great, but supporting that place, AudioKarma, is even better. Plus, Barter Town is a good place to look for and find interesting gear that fits your interests. I'm confident you could also find many similar pieces (small tube TV's, clock radios, VCR's) etc. at similar prices, or maybe just for the cost of shipping. It is also a great place to sell, swap or trade gear too.

You obviously have been very good about finding bargains, how about taking advantage of the bargain of $25/year subscribing, less than $2.50 a month?

Saturday was an unusually good day to be shopping the estate sales...

Next up I Picked up this vintage Panasonic RC-6010 Alarm Flip Clock Radio at an estate sale for $5 bucks.
It is in near mint condition, no scratches. Works 100% ! Incredible find !
I believe these were made in the mid - late 1970's.
Here's a video of it as well:

That truck is cool.

I had an old Tonka Bulldozer + Dump Truck, and both were stupid heavy. Years later, we get one for my nephew.....plastic. Didn't last a year.

Stopped at a huge sale today, it was later in the afternoon so I didn't think there would be anything worth a damn left. As I'm walking up towards the sale, I spy something wood that in my mind looks like a receiver. As I get closer I can tell it is a receiver and it looks to be a Pioneer. I get up to it and realize its a SX737 in almost mint condition. I start to get all excited and then realize there is no price on it. I think to myself well its late afternoon and it's sitting on the first table so everyone has probably saw it and inquired. I walk away looking at other things. Found a few other vintage pieces but nothing that I really wanted to deal with. As I'm leaving I walk past the Pioneer and I think, ahh hell. Might as well ask. I ask the woman running the sale how much. She say's, oh we forgot we had that and just put it out. She says how about 30 bucks. I think to myself, are you serious? I thought for a few seconds and said would you maybe go twenty. he say's SOLD!! Plugged it in to make sure protection turns off, notice all bulbs and lights work. Got home took the cover off and you could eat your dinner off the inside its so clean. Sounds just as beautiful as it looks. :)

I like your stuff Rob. The Panasonic TV is a beautiful period piece and the Sony clock radio is a nice score also. If the Dylan album is on the 2-eye/ EX condition, it's worth a bundle with that jacket.

I sell off enough of my estate sale purchases to fund the entire cost; this keeps me honest. Over the last couple weeks I bought 600 records from one person and sold 75 of the bottom 150 and have made back a third. Here are my James Bond scores from the sale, along with Goldfinger:

The Casino Royale album was all the rage from Absolute Sound in the 70's and 80's as one of the best sounding albums (the music is rather love it or don't for most people, it being Burt Bacharach and Herb Alpert/TJ Brass). Whether you like it or not, its up to you.

There is also quite a bit of debate as to which stampers sounded the best, so take a close look at the runout groove area and see what numbers are written or stamped there - it will tell you which stampers these were pressed from.

but many other critics do not agree with that assessment.

Found a few more goodies today.
Paid $1.50 each for the Nintendo games, complete in box.
Paid $5 for the vintage Tonka Pickup truck
Paid 50 cents each for the cd's and cassettes. :)

Pioneer Series 20 A27 integrated amp

I arrived shortly before closing on the second day of an estate sale. The price was $50, I offered $40 which they accepted.

I'm sure the only reason it was still for sale is because it only had the model number which isn't unusual for Series 20 gear. It works perfect and sounds wonderful. It was missing one knob. I went through a stash I have and found a similar style, since it's not an exact match I used it on the power switch.
