I am getting a pair of these in an estate sale purchase. Anyone here own and use these?

How are they and what kind of power min to max will they take?

Thinking of gifting to daughter for her college kit.

Thanks for the knowledge.

I own the big brother (E90). These are highly efficient and will not require a lot of power to drive. The sound is pretty warm and balanced. Keep an eye on the glue for the surrounds as it might be loose causing distortion. If they are in good shape, your daughter is going to have a lot of noise complaints!

Thanks Electra, I was going to pair wit a Yamaha R1000 100wpc with 3dB head room or a 150wpc Pioneer. Or send her off with some bose 901s series 6.

I came across a owners manual. No max power listed but graphs to 50w. Sounds like either speaker could blow some holes through wall.

A detailed review (HFC, 1978) basically reported "average" sound quality, high efficiency and SPLs, but "poor" stereo imaging partly due to the non-mirror-image pair. Certainly not terrible, but the implication was that it was possible to obtain greater accuracy for the same money.
