Hi guys,

Although I had already posted a thread about my Jade 3s, I feel like a new thread is needed for this REVELATION I just got:

20180116_230053.jpg

My Wharfedale Jade 7s have just shipped! Alongside my Wharfedale Jade C1! :)
The Jade 3s have instantly become surround speakers.
I had NO idea what I was missing on while "worshipping" the Jade 3s. These are much more revealing, more flat in the highs, and go down to 38Hz...

The system is now much simplified, and it is made out of:

Wharfedale Jade 7 fronts (single-amped, single-wired)
Wharfedale Jade C1 center (single-amped, single-wired)
Wharfedale Jade 3 surrounds (single-amped, single-wired)
2 x Infinity Infinitesimal subwoofers (10", servo)

Emotiva XPA-1 Gen2 Reference Balanced preamplifier (killer)
Emotiva BasX A300 Power Amplifier (2 x 150W @ 8ohm) - for fronts

Marantz SR5011 - also powering the C1 and the Jade 3s
Marantz UD7007 for Blu-Ray and CD / SACD playback

The UD7007 is connected via balanced cables to the XPA-1 and via HDMI to both the TV and the AVR.

I am using all QED cables (mix of Reference and Performance), both for speakers and as interconnects.

This is a dream come true, I feel like I am living the music

PS: The Jade 7s are still breaking in, they will need about a month or so until they "stabilize", but I am already flabbergasted by their presence and detail.

Cheers from Romania!
Andrei

Andrei,
A gorgeous system. I've never heard Wharfedales. Maybe I should.

Please keep us posted about the Jade 7's sound.
They've been on my radar for a good while now.
And congrats on living your dream!

Thank you!

I also think you should listen to some Wharfedales.
Since you seem to own not-that-large speakers yourself, you could try some Jade 3s or Reva 2 (or maybe 3?).
I have heard WONDERFUL things about Opus, but the reason I did not pick up a pair myself is because of the silk dome tweeters and intriguing silk dome midrange.
But The Opus 2 M1 sure do their part, from what I am being told.

From a vintage perspective, I have heard some E30 and E50 (there exists a larger E70, too) which are pretty good :)

Cheers
Andrei
