What a suprise!

I added laminate wood flooring to my condo over the weekend. I was very concerned about the floors causing my speakers to sound bright. My Klipsch Forte II’s are already a bit bright at louder listening levels. After hooking my system up, it was apparent I needed to spend a little time with it. With some tweaking with the bass, treble and loudness controls on my MX-113 preamplifier, my system has never sounded better. I expected an ambient, hallway effect with the floors. What I have is a very pleasing (to my ears) listening area. There is no reverberating bass or shrill, squeaky highs I’d associate with hardwood. I should have saved the time arguing with my wife and laid the floors last year. Who would have guessed? Oh, I purchased the most expensive, sound deadening cushion to go under the floors. It actually worked!
