What Albums define your musical taste?

Thanks for the link!

The good: Great new music to explore!

The bad: H.U.V.A Network has informed me that it's way past time to upgrade to a modern subwoofer...:sigh:

LOL! Yeah they definitely hit some deep bass notes. I need to figure out a way to keep the duct work from rattling in my basement :D. Its not the punchy bass that does it, but those long droning bass notes.

OK, I'll play. Off the top of my head:
Emmylou Harris: Pieces of the Sky / Luxury Liner / Quarter Moon in a Ten Cent Town
Bernstein & Sondheim: West Side Story, Original Broadway Cast (Stereo)
Grateful Dead: Anthem of the Sun / Live Dead / American Beauty / Workingman's Dead / Europe '72 / Wake of the Flood
Rolling Stones: Let It Bleed / Beggar's Banquet / Sticky Fingers
Beatles: Rubber Soul / Revolver / Abbey Road
Pretenders: Pretenders
Bonnie Raitt: S/T / Give It Up / Takin' My Time / Streetlights (oh yes, especially Streetlights!)
Bob Dylan: Highway 61 / Nashville Skyline / Blood on the Tracks
Crosby, Stills, and Nash: S/T

Jefferson Airplane: Surrealistic Pillow / Volunteers
Hot Tuna: The Phosphorescent Rat / America's Choice
John Mayall: The Turning Point
WAR: The World Is A Ghetto
Nina Simone: Nina At Town Hall
Nitty Gritty Dirt Band (and GREAT guests): Will The Circle Be Unbroken
New Riders of the Purple Sage: S/T

Saw the same KC show about the 15th row center in '74. Incredible show!!
BUT: That was when they just came out with Starless. They played a lot of Lark's though. :thmbsp: :music:

I Saw them at the Auditorium Theater 6-8 months before in '73 BEFORE Starless & they played Lark's Tongues. The Strawbs were back up.

Also saw KC at the Kinetic Playground a year before that!

Auditorium Theater was the best venue to see a concert!!

Agreed !

Saw ELP at the Amphitheater in 75'?

A kazillion more shows in Chi-Town as well!!

Saw Pink Floyd - DSOTM - 1975 Milwaukee county stadium WI

from Wiki:

"In 1975, Pink Floyd performed at County Stadium. An urban legend has sprung up around this show – according to legend, the dark and brooding clouds parted and revealed a brilliant moon just as the band was launching into the line "I'll see you on the dark side of the moon." (Eyewitnesses confirm that this actually happened, after the show had been interrupted several times by rain.)"

The moon did appear ... after much rain. The 30+ ft parabolic mirror that they projected there light show onto was amazing.
What no one seems to mention from that show is the huge rocket they wired down from the top of the stadium and went right over my head and crashed into the stage. I was 10 ft away from stage center =Bang

Off the top of my head.... Trapped on a desert island etc.
