If they go REALLY cheap, I might go for it. Otherwise, as you noted, it is always a gamble. You would also have to replace both headshells and needles.

Tim Hardin???

@red111 Yes, Tim Hardin.You obviously know him but for others who do not. Tim was responsible for songs such as . 'If I Were A Carpenter' (covered by many artists), 'Reason To Believe' (covered by Rod Stewart), and others. According to a description prefacing “Last Sweet Moments,” on YT, Tim suffered from chronic stage fright, which was partially responsible for his drug addiction. Started heroin while in the Marines and about 20 years later, at 39, was found dead from an overdose. Massive talent that never was fully realized. Unique voice in addition to writing abilities. I only have Tim Hardin 2 and doubt there are many of his albums floating around as he was no commercial success even at his peak. My two favorites and then one I never heard before this morning.

It does, but this tree had issues already for some years that had nothing to do with drought.
