I've had this JVC XL-F207 five disc machine in my possession for about three years now and have never had it in the system. It's just been sitting in the other room unused. So I just swapped it in today.
I remember the guys here talking about how great JVC CD players are. Don't know if this model has the good stuff in it or not, but I do believe it sounds better than my three Sony's. Seems to have a more analog sense of warmth to it..
But it's BIG. Bigger than the receiver it's sitting next to. I'm sure my Sony five disc is just as big.

Greg Lake cites The Shadows and especially Hank B. Marvin as being perhaps his biggest influence, and the song Apache was his inspiration to become a musician.

Thanks John. So far so good with the amp and preamp as I've just hooked them up last weekend. Improvements certainly are in the future. The only tubes that match are the output tubes. All others are a hodgepodge of tubey orphanage riff-raff. It's rather hilarious. There's definitely a whole bunch more potential with these home brewed units.
