What are you Listening To Right Now? - and more

From my experience, a lot of single try players sound better than changers. The logic being that since there's no cost for a changer mechanism, they can put better processors in. I had a Sony single that sounded excellent. I've been running a Yamaha CD-C600 carousel with a Burr Brown chip in it for a while now. Very nice sounding player that isn't finicky.

I believe Yamaha was the 1st company to come out with the carousel changer. Their 1st changer required that the 5 cd's had to be inserted with the playing side facing up.

I'll be heading out in a few. Today was the longest I've had the Denon running...about 3 hours I think. No issues. At first I was concerned that the top got warmer than my other units, but then it's 150wpc. It's going to get warm. I'm going to take it to a vintage audio store I know and just have them asses it. The tech there is very good. I just need to put some $$ aside for it.
