I listened to KUOP back when they played music and didn't belong to NPR. They had a man doing the weekday afternoon jazz show who was a personal friend of Silver. He (Silver) was a frequent guest so I assumed he was a local. Thanks for the corrected info.I just looked up Horace Silver on Wiki and he was born and raised in Conn. Composer Gil Evans was from Stockton. I wonder who you are thinking of? Anyway I'm gonna slip off and watch tonight's episode of Viet Nam on PBS. Back later
Herbie Mann is (was?) a jazz flutist. Actually quite good. I don't think he thought that cover shoot through.Well, it looks like he enjoyed the photo shoot for the album's graphics....and I do mean graphic. Way more than I ever wanted to know about him, whoever he is!

For me, It's really, really good. MX5/Ray would certainly agree. But it's very serious early '70's era prog (ELP) with a slight bent towards radio play, just so ya know.I recently picked up a copy of this. Haven't spun it up yet. Good one ah?
Evening Kevin. Hope all is well

I saw Mott the Hoople, the opening band blew them off the stage,in fact the band fired them half way through the tour. The opening band just released their second album and were hungry, that would be AEROSMITH.(great album)
I have been doing some more reading and have found Horace Silver did live in California.I copied this:Silver and his family decided to move to California around 1974, after a burglary at their New York City apartment while they were in Europe. The couple divorced in the mid-1970s. I also found that he stayed in CA to be near his son after the divorce. Another article mentions a home in Malibu. He also has a autobiography-I listened to KUOP back when they played music and didn't belong to NPR. They had a man doing the weekday afternoon jazz show who was a personal friend of Silver. He (Silver) was a frequent guest so I assumed he was a local. Thanks for the corrected info.
Now there's a pumpkin with attitude.
