I used a product called "goof off" on the poly carbonate dustcover that was original to the table. It's meant to be used to get things like sticker residue off... but not meant for polycarbonate. It more than etched it, it almost melted it. And of course, the sticker I was trying to remove was right on top of the cover, where someone at some point in time had probably placed a price tag... I didn't throw it out though, but I really like the low profile look and function of what I am using now. It's the Polycover by George Merrill.
Looks like this is the dustcover you're using. Interesting design..

Well, I got an email today from Loma Vista, they stated they are sending me a new copy and to keep the original one. A little lag time, but i guess that's how it works..

Happy that i dont have to deal with the run around of me sending it back for a new one, but this one has some serious warping going on..

Nonetheless, wanted to be sure its known they made it right. So not so bad of an experience at all.

Cool deal. Glad to hear that they're taking care of you.

Just picked-up a Zenith Model 6R683 radio (combo 78 record player), and I don't know-- 50-100 78's?? No time to count right now. I offered $20 and they took it; the radio works well, record player not so much, at this time (the platter turns, but there's barely any sound-- I'm not a "78-guy" and there are a bunch of extra needles so I need to get some advice and tweak around with it a bit).

Anyway, here it is... Cabinet has some scratches and nicks, but not bad for its age! I don't know if the tubes are original or not:

Maybe I can tighten-up or change the grill cloth; it's sagging a bit. But again, pretty dad-gum sweet for a 70-75-year old radio!!

Love the Zenith logo on that unit. It's just iconic.

The fact that the radio plays well is huge You'll figure out the turntable issues no doubt.

If i wont the lottery there would be a lot of gear id be buying... man now that would be fun!
This is the company I would buy the speakers from if I won:

http://www.westlakeaudio.com/Speakers/speakers.html

They design and manufacture the best speakers for the professional studio market in the world, period. Only the big-boys like Capital, Sony, etc.. can afford the TOTL ones, as just the speakers alone are $500K. They are a 5-way design and all handmade to order. Those esoteric speakers you see for millions of dollars won't come close to these and these are only!! $500K

They are the SM-1's

For the TOTL version of these you would need 8 mono block amplifiers, 4 per speaker, so there is another $500K easy.. I've heard these before in their listening room. I've never heard anything like them before and never will again unless I hear them again. Truly amazing!

I am listening to a box set called Sounds Of Solid Gold- Going Back In Time-Volume 48 there are 9 records and 1 empty sleeve so maybe ones missing. This is a U.S. Marine Corp release. I believe it might have been played as a radio show on armed forces radio but it has recruitment type commentary between songs also. I'm going to do some more digging and see what I come up with

Looks like they are using the JBL Cats eye in the set they have pictured on Thebes's home page. Very cool!

Blitz , they might disappoint you for home use at that price, they are all about the flattest sound imaginable for rooms treated like anechoic chambers...outside of that type of environment they probably wouldn't approach what you heard in a treated room....conversely I've heard EV QRX cabinets with Powersoft Amplifiers ( 3,000 very clean filtered AC power watts a cabinet) on an outdoor gig and they approached holographic for imaging and perfection on vocals , rock solid kick etc..I then heard the same rig, same band in a theater in Westminster Maryland the following night and due to room acoustics I couldn't exit the room fast enough...I guess my point is never underestimate a great listening space..
