Kevin's "Best Of" double cd inspired me to pull this one out. Saw them in D.C. at the Lisner I think in support of the next album High 'N' Dry. A really great band while still in their first incarnation with Pete Willis. There were two bands to emerge from the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal and achieve massive, global success. Iron Maiden and Def Leppard. Iron Maiden never sold out, not so much with Def Leppard.

Yep. Mostly tragically unfulfilled promise. I love Backstreet Crawler, but I don't think he ever totally got his mojo back after Free. Great talent.
