Long Road Out of Eden
We're back baby!! Heckuva deal on a used Pickering XSV-3000 and stock D3000 needle. The Grado 8MZ is back to being a backup needle.
Never knew what was missing even when all the other setups sounded quite pleasing at the time.
It's a clean and spin UFO Saturday night.
What was the table again?
For the bloke who asked earlier about record cleaners,
Here's evidence even the "lowly" yellow SpinClean works very well.
UFO Phenomenon before"
After.... The purple hues are back despite the instant static dust..
And the "new" Pickering is back and never leaving again..
It is THE cart and needle that stomps guts on any of these others which anyone would think sounded good til hearing an old Pickering/Stanton.
The only one I will send out someday to have re-needled (If anyone does that anymore) because of it's timeless shaft and suspension build. And amazing sound. Stereohedron I think they called it and they made a Quad version too, the 4000/4500 for awhile.
It has 4 coil pickups and a Samarium-Cobalt shaft and pintle I think I read.
Until I can afford a 5k Koetsu (coral or redwood models preferred), I don;t think this is leaving rotation anytime soon again./
Worthy of firing up the Scott and flipping a few tubes. Out with the Amperex and 2 Telefunkens. In with a Lowrey organ, GE and a Telefunken. Defininitely mellows the sound with a Lowrey.
And in with the Sennheisers..
Doesn't seem to be their most popular album...but I'm a big fan!!!
That UK press is a beast!!!
Nice spin! I recently found one myself.
1987 MCA impulse! MCA-5980
My CD/LP/TAPE Collection
Nice lineup...I'm not familiar with the upper right title...
