Yamaha CDS2100. I bought it as a refurbished unit. It was pricey but sounds lovely and is built like a tank.
Current rotation: Yamaha cdc-775 changer, Sony dvp-s9000es, Marantz dv-9600, Onkyo dx-c320, Yamaha dvd-c996. Yeah a mix of value.
A Marantz cdr-615,(Oldest, most expensive in it's day) and a Pioneer Elite dv-37 in reserve with several Yamaha and Pioneer changers.
Gotta buy if I find good for cheap.Have not found a good for cheap now in more then a year. Times are a changing.
Your system is wonderful and your audio console is stunning.
I'm using a $20 Denon DCD-670, with coaxial out into a PS Audio Digital Link III.
Not crazy about the black plastic look of the unit, but it works flawlessly and sounds really good with the digital out into the PS Audio DAC.
I've thought about upgrading, mostly as I feel I would listen to CDs more if I thought my player was sexier. But I can't find anything for under about $1000 that makes me go "Yessiree!" (I'm a vinyl guy).
Any recommendations of players with coaxial out (the DACs optical in is being used by my Mac Mini server)? Something that I might chance upon for less than $200?
This player sexy enough for you?
Esoteric pair is back on duty.
I got this bad boy in Wednesday: a Rotel RDV-1045. Painted the trim metallic gold because that's the look I'm going for. Digital out to my DAC, so we can ignore the fact that it's actually a DVD player.
P2 Transport and D2 DAC?
I got lucky. The ad was for a P2, but it was clearly a P2S in the pics. So that was a bonus!
Mcintosh MVP851. Snagged this about 4 years ago off CL - been my workhorse ever since.
Some great and now rare pieces here.
It always hurts to think of how many have went to the dump due to old belts.
I've been using this MVP831 as a cd transport for about a year now and I'm very happy with it.
Okay! I'm sure most of ya will get a laugh out of this one.
I use an old Sony SLV-D370P DVD/VHS to play my CD's and watch movies in both formats.
How's that for still living in the stone age? And I don't and won't own a cellphone ta boot.
Just picked up my first CD player yesterday in Bend Oregon, it's a Kyocera, and she sounds wonderful. I was their to purchase my second set of Warfdale W90's. Also scored a Nacachimi, higher end cassette deck. Haven't tried it yet.
