I went to see Peter Noone (of Herman's Hermits) and this one woman in the audience kept yelling "play Henry the 8th!". He finally looked right at her and said "No, love, that's the one we do at the END of the show." Everybody laughed and the woman shut up.

Good show, by the way, far exceeded my expectations.

Went see dead and co. a while back at DTE, used to be pine knob... They only had 4 or 5 gates to get everyone into the show. Metal detectors were running. The line went on forever. It took at least an hour to finally get in, and we missed half of the first set. I'm sure that some people in the back of the line missed the whole first set. I've never seen anything like that before. It was kind of a mess.

Usually the volume, especially in smaller clubs. There's no reason to run a system at very large hall levels for 30 people in a small room. And maybe use the eq to separate the instruments instead of just turning them all up. Now excuse me, I think I may hear some young'ins on my lawn.

Yep, I have zero interest in loud rock music, but the sound guys seem to think everything, even small jazz combos and traditional music should be played at ear bleeding rock levels. I think they're deaf.

Overzealous security that escort anyone who dare light a joint, while drunken aholes are allowed to spill beer on you and be generally obnoxious, last few years it has made the whole deal not as much fun.
Then there is the whole process of just trying to get the damn tickets..fawk ticketmaster.

This is too funny because it reminds me of a concert that I went to decades ago. It was Ted Nugent and Charlie Daniels Band playing at a small outdoor amphitheater that was actually located inside a state park. Signs everywhere with "NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES PERMITTED"--parking areas were full of nothing but "monster" trucks, custom vans and Harleys--a few of us in our Camaros and Firebirds. "Security" was basically the park rangers and the roadies--and the fans (that you didn't want to mess with). I'd have to swear that at least 2/3rd of the audience were carrying either a gun or at least a big knife. Everyone's ol' lady was carrying a "purse" the size of an overnight bag loaded with beer, liquor and pot--the park rangers bothered NO ONE--they just stood off to the side praying that nothing bad would happen--otherwise, they'd have to call a SWAT team or the National Guard. A good time was had by all, and no trouble erupted--it was a matter of "self-enforcement", and "the man" just turned a blind eye to everything.

The same people who get up countless times during the concert.

I never want to be that guy, so I only drink tequila at concerts, no beer.

I think what personally drives me nuts at concerts is when the musician/singer/band leader stops the concert to make some obtuse, moronic, totally uninformed political propaganda peddling speech....

I went to Santana's taping of Supernatural at the Pasadena Civic. They played it straight through, so it was a concert. Thanks to my sister's connections we were 3rd row, center. 1st and 2nd row center was well seeded with very hot young lovelies. As they danced and swayed their barely covered unrestrained breasts swung from side to side and played side boob peek-a-boo around their backs. Then there were those butts in tight micro shorts. My sis' said to me something like "you're really hating life right now aren't you?" Yes, they were driving me nuts.

The concert itself. Very few of the concerts I have gone to are satisfactory in sound, this considering the fact that I worked in a municipal auditorium for 39 years. I have seen a lot of concerts. At arenas, I do not like crowds or the way they act.

Ever been to a concert with someone who just refuses to groove to the music? They just sit there, without nary an affect. Then when you grab their hand and try to dance with them, or try to garner some kind of emotion, and they are a voided blank stare. No drugs, I'm not talking about eating a brownie and drinking some tea....

What drives me nuts, is meeting someone, getting on with them, asking them to a show, and then seeing that they are not even minutely effected by the music that you LOVE! In my youth, I went to many, many shows, and I broke up with quite a few girlfriends at shows. Maybe, I am thin-skinned, but it always just floored me, when this great girl, that I thought I understood, just sat there like a block of wood. Some people do not ALLOW music to free their spirit, and those people drive me nuts.
