What happens if you attempt to measure DC Resistance of a capacitor?

It should read open, i.e. infinite resistance.

Thanks Leestereo! I was worried there for a while... I measured the tops of my AR9's and read open, but there's a cap in series with each driver. Whew! :thmbsp:

You'll get a quick (larger capacitors take longer, small ones will be too fast to notice) dip of the needle as the cap takes a charge and then it will climb to infinity.

True capacitor resistance is ESR and would have to be measured with an ESR meter. This is important as a high ESR could have a significant effect on a circuit.
